Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu recently held discussions with senior officials on enhancing AI utilization and community involvement to alleviate traffic congestion in the city. Stressing the importance of these measures, he highlighted the role of Delhi Traffic Police in positioning the city as a global investment and tourism destination.
During his visit to the Todapur facility of Delhi Traffic Police, L-G Sandhu commended the progress of the Digital Enforcement framework. He emphasized the need to leverage Artificial Intelligence for continuous and transparent monitoring of peak-hour traffic to address issues like traffic jams and pollution effectively.
In a social media post, L-G Sandhu underscored the significance of increased on-ground presence of traffic police at congestion points to ensure smoother traffic flow and reduce pollution levels. He also emphasized the shared responsibility of managing traffic, involving Resident Welfare Associations and youth engagement for innovative traffic solutions.
Reiterating his commitment to enhancing Delhi’s mobility through advanced technology and community engagement, L-G Sandhu inaugurated new Disaster Management Vehicles and women-led scooter teams within the Delhi Traffic Police setup to bolster emergency response capabilities.
