Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and his wife Sangita Saxena hosted the traditional ‘At Home’ event at Lok Niwas in preparation for the 77th Republic Day celebrations. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and a diverse range of guests attended the gathering, which aims to promote unity, mark national/statehood days, and recognize contributions to the capital.

The event welcomed a wide array of attendees, including freedom fighters, Padma awardees, students, families of martyrs, academicians, sportspersons, and various other dignitaries from different sectors. Notable figures such as Delhi Ministers Ashish Sood and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, along with officials from different government bodies and organizations, were also present at the occasion.

Chief Minister Gupta engaged with the visually impaired Indian women’s Cricket Team, commending their historic T20 World Cup win and extending her congratulations. She also interacted with Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal during the event. The Flag Foundation of India’s efforts to honor the national flag and promote patriotism were highlighted, with Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa in attendance as well.

Chief Minister Gupta emphasized the importance of integrating sports and education for holistic personality development during a school’s annual day event. She stressed that while classrooms provide knowledge and discipline, sports fields nurture confidence, leadership, and perseverance.
