In Dwarka district, Delhi Police made a significant breakthrough by apprehending a 23-year-old accused known as a “desperate thief/knifer.” The arrest led to the recovery of various stolen items, including weapons, mobile phones, and a motorcycle. The accused, identified as Mohit Sharma from Mohan Garden in West Delhi, was found in possession of 02 button-actuated knives, 02 stolen mobiles, and 01 stolen motorcycle.

The arrest took place on April 6 during routine patrolling in Mohan Garden. While on duty, the police team spotted a suspicious individual near Poswal Chowk, Uttam Nagar, who tried to escape upon seeing them. The team managed to apprehend him after a chase, seizing a button-actuated knife from him on the spot. A case under the Arms Act (FIR No. 90/2026) was filed, and further investigations were launched.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to multiple thefts, leading to the recovery of a stolen Pulsar motorcycle and two stolen mobile phones of Motorola and Redmi. The devices were linked to separate e-FIRs filed at Mohan Garden police station. The operation was conducted by a dedicated team under Inspector Mukesh Antil’s supervision and ACP Najafgarh Raj Kumar Bajaria’s guidance. The accused, a repeat offender, has been involved in “10 cases of house theft and Arms Act” across various police stations.

The arrest has helped resolve several pending cases, with ongoing investigations aimed at uncovering more connections and recoveries.
