Delhi Police apprehended three individuals for running an illicit LPG gas storage and refilling scheme in Palam, seizing 45 Bharat Gas cylinders. The operation, based in a residential area, was dismantled by the Palam Village Police Station team. The arrested suspects include Anaar Singh, Satyaveer, and Vikas Kumar, who were involved in various roles.
Police also impounded a tempo vehicle along with the 45 confiscated Bharat Gas cylinders. The crackdown began on March 28 at 7:00 a.m. when Head Constable Rajesh received a tip-off about the unauthorized storage of LPG cylinders at a vacant plot in Palam. Upon investigation, a significant number of cylinders were found stored in the vehicle and the open area.
The illegal activity involved transferring gas between cylinders using nozzles and a weighing machine without following safety protocols. The accused lacked proper licenses for storage and confessed to renting the plot for unlawful activities. Further inquiries linked the operation to Blue Flame Gas Service in Janakpuri.
Authorities from the SDM office in Dwarka, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and the Food Safety Department confirmed the illicit operations. The suspects were arrested, and a case was filed under relevant laws at Palam Village Police Station. All seized cylinders and equipment were confiscated following legal procedures.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to renting the plot for unauthorized storage and refilling of LPG cylinders for financial gain.
