The latest crime data released by the Delhi Police shows a significant decrease in serious offenses in the national capital in 2025. Murder, robbery, rape, and molestation cases have notably declined compared to previous years, attributed to improved law and order conditions and sustained policing efforts.
In 2025, Delhi recorded 491 murder cases, down from 506 in 2023 and 504 in 2024. The murder case-solving rate in 2025 was reported at 95%, indicating improved investigative efficiency.
Cases of ‘Attempt to murder’ saw a decline to 854 in 2025 from 898 in 2024, with a 98% solving rate during the same year, reflecting stronger actions against violent crimes.
Robbery incidents decreased consistently over the past three years, with 1,326 cases reported in 2025 compared to 1,654 in 2023. The solving rate for robbery cases in 2025 was 97%.
Similarly, rape cases decreased from 2,141 in 2023 to 1,901 in 2025, with a high solving rate of 97% in 2025, indicating effective handling of such cases.
Extortion cases remained relatively stable, with 212 cases in 2025 compared to 204 in 2023 and 228 in 2024. However, the solving rate for extortion cases in 2025 was 63%.
Despite a reduction in numbers, snatching cases remain a concern, with 5,406 cases reported in 2025 compared to 7,886 in 2023. The solving rate for snatching cases in 2025 was 64%.
Crimes against women also showed a decline, with 1,708 cases reported in 2025, down from 2,345 in 2023. The solving rate for crimes involving women in 2025 was 95%.
Eve-teasing cases have decreased steadily over the years, with 337 cases reported in 2025 compared to 381 in 2023. The solving rate for eve-teasing cases in 2025 was 89%, indicating focused efforts to address such offenses.
