The Delhi Police made a significant arrest by apprehending two individuals, Om Chand alias Omu and Pyare Singh, at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. The Anti-Snatching and Burglary Cell recovered 1.436 kg of high-quality charas, known as Malana cream, valued at Rs 60 lakh from the accused just before their departure on the Maharashtra Sampark Kranti Express. A case has been filed under the NDPS Act, and investigations are ongoing.
The police received a tip-off on March 19 about Omu, a member of an interstate drug cartel, arriving in Delhi to distribute charas. Acting on this information, a team led by Inspector Robin Tyagi successfully apprehended the suspects with the contraband. The source of the seized charas was traced back to Noulu Ram from Malana village in Himachal Pradesh, who managed to evade police during a raid at his residence.
The arrested individuals disclosed that there is a high demand for charas in Mumbai, especially for social gatherings. They confessed to being assigned to transport the charas to Mumbai, sourced from Noulu Ram in Malana village. The police operation, led by ACP Sanjay Kumar Nagpal, highlights a successful crackdown on drug trafficking activities in the region.
