In a successful operation by the Special Staff of Delhi Police’s East District, an active snatcher was apprehended, leading to the resolution of multiple snatching cases and the recovery of stolen goods. The accused, Bablu, was captured based on specific intelligence input, with diligent surveillance and field intelligence aiding in the breakthrough. Under the leadership of Inspector Jitendra Malik and close supervision by ACP/Ops Pawan Kumar, the team conducted thorough fieldwork in vulnerable areas.
The operation, which involved HC Himanshu, HC Naresh, Ct. Rajeev, Ct. Sanoj, and Ct. Himanshu, included surveillance in plainclothes and activation of local intelligence networks. Following a tip-off, the team successfully trapped Bablu near Noida Link Road, recovering Rs 40,000 in cash and two motorcycles used in the crimes. The recovered cash was linked to a specific FIR, and all legal procedures were duly completed.
The accused, Bablu, a 40-year-old daily wage laborer from Madangiri, with a history of criminal involvement, is currently under interrogation to determine his role in other cases. The arrest has led to the resolution of five snatching incidents, showcasing the district police’s dedication to public safety and crime prevention through sustained surveillance and intelligence-led policing. Deputy Commissioner of Police, East, Rajeev Kumar, emphasized the ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks in the region.
