Delhi University has mandated biometric attendance for all employees, emphasizing punctuality and productivity. The new system, based on Aadhaar, requires staff to mark attendance during official hours from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break included. To ensure efficiency, employees are encouraged to take lunch between 1 and 1:30 p.m.
The university has granted a grace period up to 9:30 a.m. for latecomers, with conditions. Those arriving between 9:10 and 9:30 a.m. must compensate by working extra hours on the same day. However, employees arriving after 9:30 a.m. will face stricter consequences, including deduction of leave.
Delhi University’s directive stresses strict adherence to timings, with no further relaxation permitted. Deans and department heads are tasked with ensuring compliance and smooth administrative operations. This move signifies a reinforced commitment to attendance discipline, warning of penalties for non-compliance.
