If industry rumors are to be believed, the much-anticipated Tamil-Telugu historical drama ‘Draupathi 2’ directed by Mohan G is expected to hit screens on January 23 next year. While there hasn’t been an official confirmation on the release date yet, a retweet by director Mohan G Kshatriyan has added weight to the speculation. Produced by Chola Chakravarthy of Netaji Productions and G. M Film Corporation, ‘Draupathi 2’ has garnered significant interest among fans.
Set in the 14th century, the film unfolds during the reign of Hoysala emperor Veera Vallalar III, highlighting the valor of the Kadavarayas of Sendhamangalam and the impact of the Mughal invasion of Tamil Nadu. Earlier in November, the makers unveiled the first look of actress Rakshana Induchoodan as Draupathi Devi, showcasing a dignified and commanding portrayal that captures the character’s cultural depth and strength.
Apart from Rakshana Induchoodan and Richard Rishi, the film stars actor-cinematographer Natti Natraj in a pivotal role. The ensemble cast also includes Y. G. Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, and others, enhancing the film’s historical grandeur. With a strong technical team, the movie features Telugu dialogues by Samrat, music by Ghibran Vaibodha, and cinematography by Philip R. Sundar.
