Customers applying for new domestic piped natural gas (PNG) connections in Gujarat by June 30 will receive a discount of Rs 500, announced Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) Managing Director Avantika Singh Aulakh during a review meeting in Surat. The discount applies to areas with existing gas pipeline infrastructure, with the amount credited to the consumer’s bill post-installation of the connection.
Aulakh highlighted that the discount initiative aims to promote wider adoption of PNG connections and facilitate easier access to a consistent gas supply. The announcement was made at a meeting in Surat where officials discussed the availability and distribution of essential commodities like petrol, diesel, gas, and fertilizers in the district.
Currently, Surat city has 15.20 lakh domestic PNG connections, and Aulakh assured that the government is closely working with oil and gas companies to ensure uninterrupted gas supply for consumers. She emphasized the availability of ample stock of essential commodities in the state, with measures in place to maintain sufficient supplies in the future.
