Haryana could soon become home to India’s first Disneyland-style amusement park. In a bold move to position the state as a top-tier tourism destination, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini confirmed that discussions are underway with Disney officials to bring the iconic entertainment brand to India, with land near Manesar already shortlisted for the venture.
Speaking after a recent meeting with Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, CM Saini highlighted that a 500-acre land parcel near Pachgaon Chowk, strategically situated along the KMP Expressway, has been identified for the project. The initiative, he said, is part of a broader vision to attract both domestic and international tourists and provide a major thrust to Haryana’s economy.
“This amusement park will be a game-changer, creating thousands of jobs and bringing global tourism focus to our region,” Saini stated.
Strategic Location Backed by Infrastructure
The proposed site near Manesar lies in close proximity to key infrastructure corridors, including the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and the upcoming Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC), making it easily accessible from Delhi and across the NCR.
The Disneyland-style park is expected to complement Haryana’s Global City project — a futuristic 1,000-acre development envisioned as a self-sustaining hub with seamless access to the Delhi-Gurgaon and Dwarka Expressways.
A Cultural and Economic Powerhouse in the Making
The Haryana government believes this entertainment hub will not only cater to recreational needs but also act as a magnet for private investment, job creation, and international recognition.
The theme park is part of a larger tourism push. Plans are also underway to:
- Expand the Surajkund International Crafts Mela
- Introduce new cultural events like a Diwali Mela and a National Book Fair
- Scale up the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra to spread the teachings of Karmayoga worldwide
Officials say this combination of cultural heritage and modern entertainment will uniquely position Haryana on the tourism map.
What’s Next?
While the proposal is still in its early stages, with planning and land development just beginning, the announcement has sparked excitement across the region. If it comes to fruition, this will be India’s first ever Disneyland-style amusement park, bringing characters like Mickey Mouse and Elsa closer to home — and closer to Indian hearts.
