Election activities surged in Assam’s Golakganj Assembly constituency as BJP’s Dilip Saikia, the state president and MP, addressed a public rally backing party candidate Ashwani Roy Sarkar. Saikia, after leading a motorcycle procession of party workers to the rally venue at Laximari High School playground, criticized the Congress for policies allegedly harming Assam’s indigenous communities. He emphasized the upcoming election as a choice between BJP’s development-focused governance and forces against Assam’s interests.

The rally, marked by a substantial turnout, was seen as a strong display of support by BJP leaders ahead of the Assembly elections. Saikia also targeted Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, mentioning recent legal issues involving him and warning those spreading false information against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of facing legal consequences. He highlighted BJP’s achievements in Assam, including infrastructure development, welfare initiatives, and protection of indigenous rights, contrasting it with Congress’ alleged lack of governance clarity.

Saikia urged voters to endorse BJP’s Ashwani Roy Sarkar, stressing the importance of political stability under BJP for the state’s progress. The rally concluded optimistically with party workers expressing confidence in securing a significant mandate in Golakganj, as election campaigning escalates across constituencies in preparation for the polls.
