Families of Baloch missing persons protested outside the Karachi Press Club against the alleged fake encounter of a young man who had been forcibly disappeared and later killed in a staged police operation. The protesters demanded justice and criticized the authorities for not releasing the deceased’s body to his family. The family of 24-year-old student Hamdan Baloch claimed he was subjected to enforced disappearance before being killed in what they called a “fabricated encounter.”

The father of Hamdan Baloch, Muhammad Ali, revealed that his son was taken into custody by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel without a warrant and was not heard from since December 29, 2025. The family accused the authorities of enforced disappearance and rejected the allegations of his involvement with an armed group. Despite legal actions taken by the family, CTD officials later announced that Hamdan Baloch had died in an armed encounter, allegedly by his own associates.

Relatives of Hamdan Baloch expressed concerns over the pattern of enforced disappearances, terrorism accusations, and encounter killings, labeling them as severe violations of law and human rights. They called for a transparent post-mortem examination, continuation of legal proceedings, and demanded accountability from the CTD officers involved in the incident. Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Fauzia Baloch urged for an impartial investigation and independent autopsy to uncover the circumstances surrounding Hamdan Baloch’s death.
