Following the tragic death of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash, his family members have raised concerns about the incident. Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar, and other relatives are planning to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to request a thorough investigation into the accident. Parth Pawar has also submitted his nomination for the Rajya Sabha election as the NCP candidate.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had previously called for a CBI inquiry into the crash. The direct involvement of Ajit Pawar’s family has intensified the demand for a more detailed investigation. Allegations from close relatives have prompted this call for a comprehensive probe.
The suspicions stem from claims made by family members. NCP (SP) legislator Rohit Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s nephew, highlighted concerns about VSR Ventures, an aviation firm, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Additionally, Jay Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s younger son, shared a video alleging negligence by VSR Ventures’ owner during a flight and has urged the DGCA to take strict action.
A group of around 20 NCP MLAs met with Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar to discuss the inconsistencies surrounding the crash. The Pawar family remains dissatisfied with the initial findings of the investigation. Parth Pawar is expected to request a comprehensive technical audit of VSR Ventures and an inquiry into the safety protocols followed by the DGCA during the meeting with the Prime Minister.
The developments have attracted significant attention in Maharashtra as one of the state’s prominent political families seeks clarity. Earlier, NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule emphasized the need for a transparent investigation into Ajit Pawar’s tragic death in the plane crash. Sule stressed the importance of a fair inquiry to address the concerns of Ajit Pawar’s supporters and maintain public trust.
