One person died, and five others were seriously injured in a traffic collision on the major Kabul-Kandahar highway in Wardak province, eastern Afghanistan. The incident occurred in Sayyed Abad district on Saturday evening, with the injured individuals quickly taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. This tragedy highlights the ongoing road safety issues along Afghanistan’s crucial transportation routes.

On April 3, a separate accident in Ghazni province resulted in two fatalities and 13 injuries when a passenger bus veered off the road in Qarabagh district. The provincial police spokesman, Khalid Sarhadi, attributed the crash to reckless driving and confirmed ongoing efforts to locate a missing boy. Investigations into the cause of the accident are currently underway.

In another incident on March 28 in Laghman province, one person was killed, and 10 others were injured as a mini-bus collided with a three-wheel rickshaw and a motorbike in Mehtarlam. The statement from the provincial police office emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules to prevent such accidents. Similarly, on March 1 in Jawzjan province, a collision between two high-speed vehicles along the Jawzjan-Sari Pul highway resulted in three fatalities and six injuries, underscoring the dangers of reckless driving in the region.
