Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has arrived in Washington to enhance cooperation between India and the United States across various sectors such as trade, defense, and technology. His visit aims to review and advance the comprehensive India-US partnership. Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra welcomed Misri upon his arrival in the US.
During his visit, Misri will engage in discussions with senior US officials on a wide array of issues, including trade, defense, science, and technology, along with regional and global developments of mutual interest. The visit follows the recent trip by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to Washington in February, reflecting the ongoing high-level exchanges between the two countries.
EAM Jaishankar, following his visit to the US, highlighted the strong momentum in the growing engagement between India and the US. He mentioned the progress in finalizing a significant India-US trade deal and the advancement in critical mineral cooperation. Discussions during his visit covered various aspects of the strategic partnership between the two nations, including trade, energy, defense, critical minerals, and technology.
