Former Maharashtra Minister and ex-Mumbai BJP President Raj K. Purohit, aged 71, passed away in Mumbai after battling a prolonged illness. He breathed his last at a private hospital in the city. Purohit’s final rites are scheduled at Muktidham, Chandanwadi, following a public homage at Rajhans Building on Marine Drive for party workers and citizens to pay their respects.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the senior BJP leader. Fadnavis praised Purohit’s long and distinguished political career, highlighting his significant contributions to the BJP’s growth and organizational strength. Raj K. Purohit, a four-time MLA from Mumbadevi and once from Colaba in Mumbai, served in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for over twenty-five years.
