Google has officially launched the 2025 edition of its much-anticipated Startups Accelerator: Apps Programme, specifically designed to supercharge the growth of 20 high-potential Indian startups leveraging artificial intelligence in mobile applications. This initiative, backed by Google Play, reflects the tech giant’s deep commitment to India’s thriving startup ecosystem.

A Gateway for AI-Focused Mobile Startups

The programme is targeted at Indian startups that are not only building innovative AI-powered apps but are also at a pivotal point in their growth journey — from Seed to Series A stage. To qualify, startups must have a live app on Google Play and demonstrate a clear vision for scaling using AI.

What’s in it for the selected startups?

  • Personalized mentorship from Google and industry experts
  • Access to cutting-edge AI tools and product support
  • Custom performance reports to boost app quality and user experience
  • Insights into global best practices for business, product, and UX

Applications Now Open Until May 15, 2025
Startups have until May 15, 2025 to apply and secure a spot in the highly competitive programme. The accelerator will officially kick off in July with an intensive bootcamp and ongoing support thereafter.

Speaking on the initiative, Paula Wang, Managing Director of APAC Partnerships at Google Play, said:

“The startup ecosystem in India has always been a source of huge motivation and excitement for us. With this accelerator, we want to give AI-powered app startups the tools they need to scale efficiently and make a meaningful impact.”

Why This Matters

India is emerging as a global AI hub, and mobile-first solutions are at the heart of this revolution. Google’s Accelerator Programme is not just about funding — it’s about building scalable, future-ready tech businesses from the ground up. For founders aiming to combine AI with mobile-first innovation, this is a golden opportunity.
