Gujarat’s judoka Rohit Majgul secured qualification for the Commonwealth Games 2026 and the Asian Games 2026 after excelling at the Judo Selection Trials in New Delhi. In a thrilling final at the national judo trials, Majgul triumphed over Haryana’s Garvit in a tense match that went into golden score. His victory was sealed with a brilliant O-goshi move, earning him a waza-ari.
The 23rd Commonwealth Games are set to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, while the Asian Games 2026 will take place in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan, starting from September 19. Majgul expressed his joy at qualifying for these prestigious events, attributing his success to hard work, training, and the support of the Vijayi Bharat Foundation.
Hailing from Talala in Gir Somnath district in Gujarat, Majgul trains at the Vijayi Bharat Foundation. His consistent performance, including victories in the last two Senior Nationals, underscores his skill and dedication to judo.
