Gujarat has surpassed 30 lakh MSME registrations under the Udyam system, positioning itself in the top five states in India. Ahmedabad and Surat are also listed among the nation’s top 10 districts for such registrations, as per official data. This achievement highlights Gujarat’s strong industrial and entrepreneurial presence.

The state’s officials emphasized that Gujarat’s industrial prowess is evident through its ranking among the top states in the country for MSME Udyam registrations. With over 30 lakh registered MSME units, the state showcases a robust industrial foundation. Ahmedabad and Surat’s inclusion in the top 10 districts for Udyam registrations underscores their significance as key hubs for small and medium enterprises.

To bolster industrial growth and enhance competitiveness, Gujarat is executing the ‘Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme for Assistance to MSMEs-2022’. This initiative offers various forms of support to industries, including capital and interest assistance, reimbursement of net SGST and EPF, and aid for enterprise resource planning systems, quality certifications, and technology acquisition.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government remains dedicated to backing industries despite global economic challenges. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi’s administration is expediting the disbursal process, with 5,094 claims from MSME units approved since February this year. Notably, Rs 2,310.91 crore has been disbursed to MSMEs and other industries in the past two months, providing crucial financial backing to the sector.

Efforts to fortify Gujarat’s manufacturing ecosystem include support for large-scale industries under the Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme 2022 and the Industrial Policy 2020. These initiatives aim to further enhance the state’s industrial landscape and promote economic growth.
