Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the state currently operates 4,032 government-run petrol pumps, with daily sales averaging 4,804 kiloliters of petrol and 12,003 kiloliters of diesel. He also mentioned that the state receives 200,000 gas cylinders daily, with around 190,000 cylinders being distributed. Additionally, measures are in place to maintain supplies of commercial LPG, ensuring no shortage in essential institutions like hospitals and schools.
The Chief Minister highlighted that a stock of 173,000 commercial gas cylinders is currently available in the state. He further stated that the Central government has implemented a 70% allocation framework for the commercial LPG sector and increased domestic LPG production by 40% to reduce import dependence. Strict actions against black marketing and hoarding were also emphasized by the Chief Minister.
In efforts to enhance PNG services, the Chief Minister mentioned a significant reduction in the lease rate for laying PNG gas pipelines in Haryana. He indicated a shift from an annual payment of Rs 300,000 per kilometer to a one-time lump sum payment of Rs 1,000 per kilometer. Moreover, a target of 13,33,603 connections has been set for PNG services within the state, with Haryana holding a strong position in the natural gas pipeline sector.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reducing excise duty on petroleum products, the Chief Minister lauded the move for stabilizing prices of diesel, petrol, and gas for the public. He commended the Central government’s commitment to the Nation First policy in taking this step. Additionally, PM Modi recently held a virtual meeting with chief ministers and lieutenant governors to discuss preparedness and urged collective efforts to address challenges posed by the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
