Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, speaking at the ‘Dhanyavaad Evam Viksit Faridabad Rally,’ pledged to introduce Ganga water to Faridabad and unveiled various initiatives. He highlighted plans to enhance major city junctions to ease traffic congestion and reduce pollution. Exploring fresh drinking water from the Upper Ganga canal to address quality issues with groundwater-based supply was also mentioned.
The Chief Minister disclosed upcoming projects, including rainwater harvesting systems in 50 community centers and parks in Faridabad. Government buildings will also adopt these systems to promote water conservation and combat waterlogging. A nature park under the Divya Nagar scheme in Greater Faridabad, costing around Rs 10 crore, is set to be developed.
Moreover, plans include constructing a banquet hall above a multi-level parking area near the convention hall and establishing a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Greater Faridabad for improved educational access. Additionally, a multi-speciality hospital in Sector 8 under the PPP model and the transformation of IMT in Sector 66 into a commercial hub with modern amenities like cinema halls and hotels were announced.
