Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta recently met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. This meeting marked the Governor’s first interaction with the Prime Minister since assuming office. Discussions during the meeting revolved around various development and welfare matters concerning the state.
Governor Gupta briefed the Prime Minister on significant initiatives underway in Himachal Pradesh, including the Drug-Free Himachal Campaign and the TB-Free Himachal Campaign. These initiatives aim to enhance public health and social well-being across the state. Notably, Himachal Pradesh has been making strides in natural farming, with an increasing number of farmers adopting chemical-free agricultural practices, signaling a positive shift in the rural economy.
Emphasizing the importance of sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture, Governor Gupta highlighted the need to expand these initiatives for long-term environmental protection and improved livelihoods. He underscored the crucial role of continued support and guidance from the Central government in advancing these developmental programs. The Governor stressed the significance of collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives for the state’s benefit.
Governor Gupta also met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan to discuss the overall situation in Himachal Pradesh and the state’s developmental and welfare projects. The President conveyed her best wishes for the progress and well-being of the people of Himachal Pradesh, acknowledging the efforts towards inclusive and sustainable development in the state.
