Hockey India has revealed plans for the women’s national coaching camp set to run from April 1 to 9, 2026, as part of India’s groundwork for an important international season. Following a commendable performance at the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Hyderabad, Telangana, where they secured a silver medal, the team has secured a spot in the upcoming FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2026.
The coaching camp aims to focus on building synergies, improving fitness levels, and refining tactical abilities as the team begins to gel under the guidance of new coach Sjoerd Marijne. This training session holds significance as India readies itself for the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup 2026 in June, the FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup 2026 in Belgium and the Netherlands in August, and the 2026 Asian Games scheduled from September 19 to October 4 in Japan.
The squad’s goalkeeping contingent includes Savita, Madhuri Kindo, Bansari Solanki, and Bichu Devi Kharibam, with Bichu Devi Kharibam being honored with the Hockey India Baljit Singh Award for Goalkeeper of the Year at the recent Hockey India 8th Annual Awards 2025. The defensive lineup boasts seasoned players like Nikki Pradhan and Udita, supported by Ishika Chaudhary, Jyoti Singh, Lalthantluangi, Jyoti, and Shilpi Dabas, providing a solid defensive foundation.
