Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) apprehended four drug peddlers and confiscated illegal substances in raids at three locations. The operations, conducted jointly with Chilkalguda, Sanath Nagar, and Adibatla Police Stations, led to the arrest of an interstate drug peddler, a local drug peddler, and three sub-peddlers. They seized contraband, vehicles, mobile phones, and cash totaling Rs 63.65 lakh.
In the first incident under Chilkalguda police station’s jurisdiction, 18-year-old student Sai Nikhil Yadav was arrested with 115 grams of MDMA valued at Rs 11.50 lakh. Deputy Commissioner of Police Vaibhav Gaikwad stated that Yadav, a college student, got involved in drug consumption during his college days. He later became a sub-peddler to sustain his addiction and make quick money.
The second case involved the arrest of Simhachalam, 28, an inter-state peddler, and Venu, 23, a sub-peddler, by H-NEW and Sanath Nagar police. They seized 1005 grams of Hash oil and two mobile phones worth Rs 12.75 lakh. Simhachalam, originally a welder from Srikakulam district, evolved into an interstate drug peddler by establishing a network to supply drugs in Hyderabad through sub-peddlers.
In the third scenario, H-NEW, in collaboration with Adibatla police, apprehended Akshay A Patel, 35, a local drug peddler, and Babburi Aditya Vardhan, 25, a sub-peddler. They seized ecstasy pills, OG, LSD Blots, a two-wheeler, mobile phones, and cash amounting to Rs 39.40 lakh. Patel, a graduate, started as a drug user and later transitioned into a peddler, sourcing drugs through courier services. Aditya Vardhan, influenced by bad company during his studies, joined the drug network as a sub-peddler due to financial constraints.
