The Republic Day flypast will feature the IAF aircraft’s “Operation Sindoor” formation, showcasing air power and precision. A Defence Ministry official revealed that 29 aircraft, including fighters, transport planes, and helicopters from six bases, will participate. The formations will start with the Dhwaj formation, featuring Mi-17 IV helicopters carrying the National Flag and service flags.
The display will demonstrate the capabilities of various aircraft like Rafale, Su-30 MKI, MiG-29, and Jaguar, along with strategic assets such as C-130, C-295, and Indian Navy’s P-8i. Attack helicopters like ALH MK IV, Apache, and Light Combat Helicopter will also be part of the flypast, emphasizing jointmanship. The IAF marching contingent, comprising 144 young Air Warriors, symbolizes tradition and modernity, upholding the core values of the IAF.
Led by Squadron Leader Jagdesh Kumar, the IAF marching contingent includes Supernumerary Officers Squadron Leader Nikita Choudhary, Flight Lieutenant Prakhar Chandrakar, and Flight Lieutenant Dinesh. The IAF Band, led by Sergeant Charles Antony Daniel, will support the contingent with 72 elite musicians, including women for the first time. The band will perform “Sound Barrier” as it passes the Presidential dais, showcasing its versatility.
The Veteran’s Tableau theme, “Sangram se Rashtra Nirman Tak” (From Battle to Nation Building), will be highlighted during the Republic Day parade. The tableau will feature historical war machines like T-55 and Vijayant Tank, Hunter, MiG-21, Mirage, and Jaguar aircraft, INS Mysore, and INS Rajput. The rear portion will focus on veterans’ role in national development, emphasizing their contributions to flood relief, medical services, education, and the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
