Almost 16% of the world’s AI talent originates from India, giving the country a competitive advantage in global AI capabilities, as highlighted in a white paper released at the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’. The paper emphasizes a shift in India’s AI narrative towards productivity expansion, institutional strengthening, and inclusive participation in the digital economy.
The white paper’s key message is that the future growth trajectory will be shaped not just by AI access but by disciplined implementation and widespread institutional adoption. Drawing insights from consultations with policymakers and stakeholders, it presents a roadmap to drive job creation, productivity, and inclusive growth, positioning India as a role model for developing nations.
Titled “AI for All: Catalysing Jobs, Growth, and Opportunity,” the white paper was unveiled by Prosus, a global tech company, in collaboration with BCG and MeitY. It underscores India’s robust digital infrastructure and significant AI talent pool, advocating for the translation of these strengths into tangible outcomes and institutional capacity.
According to Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary at MeitY and CEO of IndiaAI Mission, India’s focus is now on leveraging its digital public infrastructure and AI talent to achieve measurable results. The paper showcases how AI can be responsibly institutionalized and expanded across emerging economies, positioning India as a blueprint for other developing regions.
The white paper stresses the need for integrating AI across various sectors like agriculture, education, healthcare, manufacturing, and finance to drive employment growth, enhance governance, and boost long-term productivity. It underlines the importance of scaling up AI execution to propel India’s next phase of development.
