He now faces Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar Tashkenbay, the reigning World Champion.
In the men’s 60kg category, Sachin delivered a composed performance, winning a 4-1 split decision against Mongolia’s Buyandalai Bayarkhuu. Sachin’s next challenge is against Chinese Taipei’s Cheng-Wei Lee in the upcoming round. The championships witness top boxing talents from across Asia, with each bout crucial in the journey towards the medal rounds.
The tournament also saw impressive performances from Indian boxers on earlier days. Preeti Pawar secured a unanimous 5-0 victory in the women’s 54kg category, while Deepak triumphed with a narrow 3-2 split decision in the men’s 70kg category. Priya and Jadumani Singh also showcased their skills, with Priya winning 5-0 and Jadumani engaging in a closely contested bout.
