India made a strong start at the BOXAM Elite International 2026 tournament in Spain, with 214 boxers from 21 countries participating. World Boxing Cup Finals champions Hitesh Gulia (70kg) and Preeti (54kg) led the Indian team to victory on the first day. Hitesh secured a dominant 5:0 win in the men’s 70kg category, while Preeti showcased her skills with a precise victory in the women’s 54kg division.
India’s women boxers continued their winning streak, with Prachi (57kg), Priya (60kg), and Kajal (65kg) all progressing confidently. In the men’s matches, Sachin (60kg), Mohammed Hussam Uddin (60kg), Abhinash Jamwal (65kg), Deepak (70kg), Akash (75kg), and Ankush (80kg) also secured wins. However, Aditya Pratap Yadav (65kg) was eliminated after a tough match.
