The Indian Army has launched a 15-day National Integration Tour for students from Arunachal Pradesh’s Shi-Yomi district. This initiative, starting from Monday, aims to offer students from the remote border region exposure to India’s cultural and historical heritage. The tour includes visits to Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, and Itanagar, providing insights into India’s democratic institutions and diverse socio-cultural fabric.
The tour itinerary features visits to significant landmarks like Teen Murti Bhawan, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the National War Memorial. Students will also engage with educational and defense institutions to deepen their understanding of the nation’s history, values, and governance. The initiative seeks to broaden horizons, build confidence, and instill a sense of national pride among the students.
Lt Col Mahendra Rawat highlighted that the tour combines education, exposure, and experiential learning to offer students a glimpse of real-life India beyond textbooks. By interacting with people from different regions and experiencing metropolitan environments, students are expected to develop a stronger sense of belonging to the nation. The initiative is part of the army’s commitment to empowering youth and fostering emotional integration with the national mainstream.
