The General Officer Commanding of the Indian Army’s Red Shield Division in Manipur reiterated the Army’s dedication to ensuring safety and security for all communities in the state. Emphasizing the Army’s role as a neutral and reliable force, the officer engaged with residents of remote villages to assess the ground situation and promote peace. Through dialogues with local organizations and village leaders, efforts are being made to address tensions and foster understanding among different communities.
The visit by the Army officer highlights ongoing initiatives to build trust, strengthen community bonds, and contribute to lasting peace in Manipur. In a separate development, Manipur Police arrested six individuals for violating curfew and assaulting police personnel in Imphal East district. The individuals were apprehended for attempting to snatch weapons and have been identified by the authorities.
Security forces also apprehended two individuals in Senapati district for possessing contraband methamphetamine tablets worth nearly Rs 4 crore. The forces seized a car and mobile phones during the operation as part of intensified crackdowns on militant activities. With increased security measures, including checkpoints and area domination drives, efforts are being made to curb suspicious movements and ensure the safe passage of essential commodities and commuters along the Imphal-Jiribam National Highway.
Manipur Police have advised the public to verify the authenticity of videos and audio clips circulating on social media through the Central Control Room to avoid spreading misinformation. Sharing unverified content may lead to legal consequences, as cautioned by the police statement.
