The Shatrujeet Brigade of the Indian Army’s Central Command recently conducted intensive Watermanship Training to boost operational readiness and maritime capabilities. The training focused on refining aquatic maneuvers and combat diving skills, aiming to enhance endurance, tactical precision, and confidence in subsurface operations. Through rigorous drills and expert-led sessions, the brigade aims to strengthen its multi-domain capability, ensuring troops are prepared for diverse challenges.
The training initiatives are crucial for maintaining elite standards of agility, adaptability, and resilience among the paratroopers. From river crossings to specialized diving tasks, the warriors are equipped to overcome obstacles in any environment. Additionally, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C, Central Command, visited troops in Kumaon to review their winter posture and operational readiness, appreciating their dedication in safeguarding the nation in challenging terrains and extreme weather conditions.
During the visit, Gen. Sengupta interacted with NCC cadets at Pithoragarh, emphasizing the values of discipline, dedication, and responsibility in nation-building. He commended the cadets for their enthusiasm and potential as future leaders of India. In a separate event, a ceremony was held to honor the sacrifice of Sep (Late) Manish Kumar Netam, 25 Maratha Light Infantry, with the inauguration of his memorial bust in his native village Kharenga, Chhattisgarh. Born on December 15, 1998, Sep Netam lost his life during Operation Meghdoot in Siachen, symbolizing courage, devotion, and service to the nation.
