Known for her timeless voice, Bhosle’s melodies are expected to resonate indefinitely. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday, with her last rites scheduled at Shivaji Park on Monday at 4:00 pm.
Several cricket personalities paid tribute to Bhosle. Men’s head coach Gautam Gambhir expressed sadness, highlighting her elegance and unmatched talent. Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan reminisced about growing up listening to her voice, emphasizing its eternal nature. Former India pacer Jhulan Goswami described Bhosle’s voice as more than music, touching generations with its emotional depth.
Former cricketers like Anil Kumble, Yuvraj Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harbhajan Singh, and Yusuf Pathan also shared heartfelt messages, praising Bhosle’s enduring legacy. IPL franchise Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Lucknow Super Giants honored her memory with touching tributes.
Asha Bhosle, a prominent singer, made her debut in the 1943 Marathi film ‘Majha Bal’ and gained fame for hits like ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko’ and ‘Ye Ladka Hai Allah Kaisa Hai Diwana.’ Singing in around 20 languages, Bhosle amassed a vast repertoire of nearly 12,000 songs over her illustrious career. She collaborated with renowned music composers and received accolades, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan.
