The Indian Oil Corporation has conducted over 10,600 inspections, taking strict actions against violators, including show-cause notices and suspensions. In collaboration with state governments, more than 1.2 lakh raids and over 990 FIRs have been carried out nationwide to ensure fair distribution across the industry.
The corporation emphasized continuous surveillance of Indane distributorships to maintain service standards and ensure LPG reaches genuine customers. Prioritizing LPG supplies for domestic consumers, IndianOil is committed to transparent, efficient, and uninterrupted distribution throughout the country.
To prevent diversion, black marketing, and hoarding, stringent monitoring and enforcement measures are in place. On April 10, over 51.5 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered, with approximately 1 lakh 5-kg FTL cylinders sold nationwide, surpassing the daily average in February 2026.
Since March 23, 2026, more than 12 lakh 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders have been sold to students and vulnerable communities, including migrant laborers. These cylinders will be provided to state governments for distribution exclusively to migrant laborers with the support of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
PSU OMCs have conducted about 2,900 awareness camps for 5-kg FTL cylinders in the past 8 days, selling over 29,000 cylinders. Citizens are advised against panic buying of petrol, diesel, and LPG, urged to use digital booking platforms, and encouraged to explore alternative fuels like PNG and electric or induction cooktops. Energy conservation is also emphasized in daily usage during the current situation.
