Arun Rupesh Maini, a British YouTuber of Indian origin popularly known as Mrwhosetheboss, has set a new Guinness World Record by constructing the largest smartphone replica. This enormous iPhone 15 Pro Max stands over two meters tall, making it the largest of its kind in the world.

Maini, a leading tech content creator, teamed up with Matthew Perks, also known as DIYPerks, to build this functioning replica. Despite its impressive size, the smartphone is fully operational, featuring a working camera, flashlight, charging port, and capabilities such as sending messages, scrolling, and running apps.

Expressing his excitement, Maini told Guinness World Records, “It feels like a full circle moment. I’m so proud of both our team and Matt for pulling off what’s never been done before.” He also reflected on his childhood, saying, “Growing up, I would disappear into the library for hours to read the latest Guinness World Records books, so to achieve an award myself feels absolutely surreal.”

Maini began his YouTube journey in 2011 and has since amassed millions of subscribers with his engaging tech reviews. The creation of the giant iPhone was a way to celebrate surpassing Apple’s subscriber count on YouTube, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Born in Nottingham, England, Maini has a British father and an immigrant mother from India, who moved to the UK at the age of fifteen. Maini attended regular English school during the week and Hindi school on weekends to learn a second language. He later attended Nottingham High School and studied economics at the University of Warwick.
