Indian Producer Sanatan Kadakia Makes Waves in Hollywood and Broadway

Engineering Dreams into Reel Realities

Born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Sanatan Kadakia’s initial foray into the professional world was through electrical engineering. However, a stint as a projectionist ignited a passion for cinema, prompting a significant career shift. Pursuing this newfound interest, Kadakia moved to the UK to earn a Master’s degree in Information Technology. His journey then led him to the United States, where he immersed himself in the world of filmmaking, starting as a production assistant and still photographer in Houston.

Establishing Hidden Ridge Productions

In 2018, Kadakia founded Hidden Ridge Productions, marking his official entry into the independent film industry. His production house has since been associated with a diverse range of projects, including:

  • “Spithood” (2024): A gripping narrative exploring societal issues.
  • “The Baby in the Basket” (2025): A poignant tale delving into familial bonds.
  • “Séance” (2024): A horror-thriller intertwining themes of grief and the supernatural.
  • “Winter Island” (2024): A drama capturing the essence of isolation and discovery.
  • “Control” (2023): A psychological exploration of human behavior.
  • “Scrap” (2022): A narrative focusing on resilience and redemption.

Additionally, Kadakia contributed to the TV mini-series Murder Among the Mormons (2021), showcasing his versatility in different formats.

Broadway Debut: “The Last Five Years”

Expanding his horizons beyond film, Kadakia ventured into theater production. On April 6, 2025, he debuted as an executive producer on Broadway with The Last Five Years at the Hudson Theatre in New York. This production featured performances by Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren, adding a musical feather to his cap.

Upcoming Endeavors

Kadakia’s passion for storytelling continues with upcoming projects like Death Among the Pines, a suspense thriller penned by Tom Jolliffe. The film is set to feature actors such as Nicolette McKeown, Nathan Shepka, Stephen Kerr, and Olly Bassi, promising a gripping cinematic experience.
