European vacations are hotter than ever for Indian travelers, with a recent European Commission report showing a massive surge in Schengen visa applications.
The report found a whopping 43% increase in visa filings from India in 2023 compared to the year before. This puts India in third place for Schengen visa applications, behind China and Turkey.
Easier access seems to be fueling the fire. The European Commission introduced a new visa regime offering Indian nationals multi-entry visas valid for up to five years, allowing for greater travel freedom within the Schengen zone. Popular destinations like France, Germany, Italy, and Spain are likely to see a significant boost in Indian visitors.
