The Indian senior women’s national team secured a 2-0 victory against Russian team Zvezda-2005 Perm in a friendly match held at the S&B Sport Football Complex in Serik, Antalya, Turkiye. Anju Tamang scored an early goal in the ninth minute, with Lynda Kom Serto adding another in the 89th minute to seal the win for the Blue Tigresses. This win marked their fifth friendly match in Antalya as part of their preparations for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026.
In their previous matches, the team had triumphed 1-0 against German side Hertha BSC Frauen and played to a 0-0 draw against WFC Spartak Moscow in the first match of a series of four friendlies. Grace Dangmei’s goal in the 37th minute had secured the victory for the Blue Tigresses, as they continued their preparations in Turkiye for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026.
Before heading to Australia on February 10, India is scheduled to play their final game in Turkiye against FK Csíkszereda Miercurea Ciuc of Romania on February 7. The team is currently in Antalya, focusing on their preparations for the continental tournament, and will train in Türkiye until early February before relocating to Perth, Australia.
The Blue Tigresses are gearing up for their Asian Cup Group C matches, commencing with a game against Vietnam on March 4 at the Perth Rectangular Stadium. Subsequently, they will face Japan on March 7 in Perth and Chinese Taipei on March 10 in Sydney.
