On India’s 78th Independence Day, MakeMyTrip and the Ministry of Tourism launched the evocative campaign, ‘India: The Homecoming.’ The initiative is a heartfelt invitation to the global Indian diaspora, urging them to reconnect with their roots and witness the nation’s transformation firsthand.
At the heart of the campaign is an online film featuring the legendary poet Gulzar, whose stirring words, “कितना हुआ है इन दिनों बदलाव तो देखो, तुम अपने घर में लौट कर आओ तो देखो,” (“See the changes of these times, come home and witness them”) capture India’s evolution. The campaign’s emotional appeal is aimed at reminding Indians worldwide of their cultural heritage and encouraging them to explore the country’s progress and beauty.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Tourism & Culture, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “This Independence Day, we urge the Indian diaspora across the globe to take a trip back home and experience Incredible India in all its richness, not just for themselves, but for everyone whom Incredible India awaits.”
