India’s young badminton talents, including Tanvi Sharma, Rounak Chauhan, and Tanvi Patri, showcased impressive performances at the Senior National Badminton Championships in Vijayawada. Tanvi Sharma and Tanvi Patri secured victories in the women’s singles pre-quarterfinals, defeating their opponents convincingly. Meanwhile, Rounak Chauhan upset a higher seed in the men’s Round of 16 to advance in the tournament.
Top seeds Unnati Hooda and Anupama Upadhyaya also secured their spots in the quarterfinals with notable wins. Unnati staged a comeback to win her match, while Anupama displayed dominance in her victory. In the men’s events, players like M. Tharun and Aryaman Tandon caused upsets to progress in the competition.
The mixed doubles event saw Nitin Kumar and Kanika Kanwal pulling off an upset against the 6th seeds. The tournament also witnessed experienced players like Shruti Mundada and Parul Choudhary defeating higher-ranked opponents to advance further. Tanvi Patri continued her impressive run by eliminating another seeded player in the women’s singles pre-quarterfinals.
