Indore Airport to Undergo Major Expansion with New Terminal and Runway Extension
Indore’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is set for a massive upgrade to accommodate the growing passenger demand. The project includes the construction of a modern, state-of-the-art terminal, capable of handling 55 lakh passengers annually, and an extended runway to improve its capacity for larger aircraft. This expansion aims to position Indore as a key aviation hub in central India, boosting regional connectivity and economic activity.
The new terminal will feature advanced facilities, including additional check-in counters, baggage systems, and modern lounges, ensuring a seamless travel experience. The extended runway will enable long-haul international and cargo flights, fostering better global connectivity and attracting investments to the region.
The airport’s modernization aligns with India’s aviation growth strategy, meeting the rising demands of air travel while promoting infrastructure development. Once complete, the project is expected to create significant employment opportunities and support local businesses, further enhancing Indore’s role as a commercial and tourism center.
