Intense Competition at All India Chess Masters in Mumbai

The All India Chess Masters (Season 3) in Mumbai saw a fierce battle for the top spots after Round 6 at the Mumbai Chess Centre on Pedder Road. Palaash Mapara, the top seed with 5 points, was held to a draw by Shreyansh Somaiya at 4.5 points, maintaining his lead but facing strong competition.

In a significant match on Board 2, Pratik Yadnik at 4.5 points lost to Shriram Mhasane, also at 4.5 points, who joined the group of contenders with a notable win. AGM Rajveer Nahar at 4.5 points continued his consistent performance by defeating Yashraj Rathi, while Tanuj Dayal at 4.5 points secured a victory over Amey Dandekar to stay in the running.

Arjun Singh at 4.5 points claimed a crucial win against Dhruv Muthe at 4 points, and Naitik V Mane at 4.5 points triumphed over Deepak R Soni at 4 points, advancing in the standings. Noteworthy results also included Nikhiil Shelar’s victory over Preyas Waghmare and AIM Akashkumar Yadav’s win against Prisha Margaj.

With two rounds left, the tournament remains highly competitive, promising an exciting conclusion.
