Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, expressed Iran’s aim for a definitive resolution to the conflict with the US and Israel. Araghchi clarified that Iran’s stance on ceasefire talks has been misinterpreted by US media. He emphasized the importance of securing terms for a lasting end to the ongoing war imposed on Iran.
The Wall Street Journal reported Iran’s refusal to meet US officials in Islamabad and its rejection of US demands. The Israel Defence Forces announced striking key infrastructure sites in Tehran, including defence and weapons facilities. The strikes were guided by intelligence, targeting sites related to missile storage and research and development.
Following the crash of two US military aircraft under Iranian fire, Iran reported injuries in US-Israeli attacks on petrochemical companies in Khuzestan province. The attacks caused damage to multiple companies and the Shalamcheh border trade terminal. The Mahshahr Special Petrochemical Zone, where the companies are situated, was evacuated due to the attacks.
Israel and the US had previously launched joint attacks on Iranian cities, resulting in casualties on both sides. Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes on Israel and US assets in the Middle East.
