Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, expressed condolences for Majid Khademi, a senior general of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), who was killed in an airstrike in Tehran. Khamenei praised Khademi for his long-standing contributions to Iran’s security and defense sectors. He denounced the assassinations and crimes targeting Iranian leadership, emphasizing that such actions will not deter the country’s progress.
Khamenei accused Israel and the United States of resorting to terrorism and assassination tactics following what he described as “successive defeats.” He extended his sympathies to Khademi’s family, colleagues, and other IRGC Intelligence Organization commanders. Khademi had assumed leadership of the intelligence organization last year after the death of his predecessor, Mohammad Kazemi, during a conflict between Iran and Israel.
In a separate incident, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, strongly condemned a recent attack on the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran by the US and Israel. The attack caused significant damage to the university’s information technology center and a nearby gas substation. Iran’s military retaliated by targeting petrochemical facilities in southern Israel, as well as US equipment depots and troops in Kuwait.
Following previous hostilities, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Iranian cities, resulting in the deaths of senior Iranian military figures and civilians, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran carried out missile and drone strikes against Israeli and US assets in the Middle East.
