The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported the killing of Majid Khatem-Hosseini Khadami, the Chairman of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ (IRGC) intelligence organization, in an airstrike in Tehran. IDF stated that Khadami, a significant commander of the Revolutionary Guards, was targeted by the Israeli Air Force with precise intelligence guidance. Khadami, who had extensive military and security experience, was appointed to his position following the assassination of Muhammad Khatami in Operation ‘Am Kalavi’.
The IDF mentioned that Khadami played a crucial role in gathering intelligence for the regime’s senior echelons and was involved in advancing terrorist attacks globally. He was also responsible for monitoring Iranian civilians during internal protests. The Israeli defence ministry emphasized that Khadami’s elimination dealt a severe blow to the Revolutionary Guards’ command and control systems, hindering their ability to conduct terrorist activities against Israel and other countries.
The IDF also announced the killing of Mohammad Reza Ashrafi Kahi, the Head of Commerce at the IRGC’s Oil Headquarters in Tehran. Ashrafi managed the commercial operations of the Oil Headquarters, contributing to the development of IRGC’s military capabilities and supporting groups like the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas.
