Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Israeli Consulate in Turkey’s Istanbul, affirming that they will not be deterred by terror. The attack led to a gunfight between three assailants and police outside the consulate building in the Besiktas district, resulting in the death of all three attackers.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation into the incident, following reports of gunfire near the consulate. The office has assigned prosecutors to examine the scene and is conducting a thorough investigation in collaboration with law enforcement units.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gul mentioned that the Consulate building had not been actively used for diplomatic purposes for around 2.5 years. Additionally, Turkey’s Minister of Interior confirmed that the three attackers involved in the clash with police have been neutralized and identified.
