Around 50 Air Force fighter jets from the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) carried out an attack on the Iranian regime’s leadership compound in Tehran on February 28. The strike resulted in the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The IDF revealed that the attack targeted an underground bunker used by Khamenei for combat operations.
The IDF, with guidance from the Intelligence Directorate and Anti-Terrorism Directorate, successfully destroyed the underground bunker located beneath the leadership complex in Tehran. This bunker was a key emergency asset for Khamenei. The IDF’s operation, named ‘Roar of the Harrier,’ prevented Khamenei from utilizing the bunker.
According to the IDF, the Iranian regime had invested significant resources over several years to establish this underground complex. The bunker, spanning entire streets in Tehran, served as a strategic meeting place for senior Iranian regime officials. The IDF’s precise intelligence gathering and investigation led to the successful attack on the compound.
The leadership compound targeted by the IDF was a crucial hub for the Iranian terrorist regime. By eliminating the underground bunker, the IDF has severely impacted the regime’s command and control capabilities. Earlier reports indicated that the IDF had also dismantled the central headquarters of the Iranian regime’s Leadership Compound.
