Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Argentina’s Universidad Nacional De San Antonio De Areco (UNSAdA) recently inked an online Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation and academic partnerships. The signing ceremony, overseen by JMI Vice-Chancellor Mazhar Asif, took place on February 18, with Mahtab Alam Rizvi, JMI Registrar, and Jeronimo E. Ainchil, UNSAdA Rector, signing the agreement. UNSAdA Rector Ainchil highlighted the university’s commitment to internationalization and innovation with a focus on local impact and global outreach, emphasizing the concrete initiatives that will stem from this collaboration, such as joint research and academic exchanges.
The agreement aims to foster academic dialogue between India and Latin America, transcending symbolism to facilitate practical endeavors like joint seminars, research conferences, workshops, and collaborative projects. Both universities have pledged to engage in faculty and staff development, share academic resources, publications, and intellectual property, and offer executive training and advisory services. Ainchil expressed satisfaction with the strategic partnership between the two institutions, underscoring the significance of this collaboration in promoting knowledge dissemination and interdisciplinary cooperation.
The MoU signing event was attended by key officials from both universities, including Ushvinder Kaur Popli, JMI Dean of International Relations; Tanuja, Academic Affairs Dean; Iqtidar Mohd. Khan, Humanities and Languages Dean; Md. Faizullah Khan, Department of Foreign Languages Head; Noorin Khan, Spanish and Latin American Studies, and Department of Foreign Languages Dean; and Saima Saeed, Foreign Students’ Advisor. The ceremony featured introductions between JMI and UNSAdA officials, detailed presentations on the universities, and discussions on the purpose and objectives of the MoU.
