Qamran Iqbal scored a century and Sahil Lothra a half-century, extending J&K’s lead to 477 runs against Karnataka. Omar Abdullah expressed his support for the J&K cricket team, praising their dominant performance throughout the match.
Earlier in the day, J&K started positively, with Abdul Samad and Qamran scoring quickly to increase the run rate. Qamran reached his fifty in 89 balls and continued to pressure Karnataka by finding boundaries consistently. Despite a breakthrough by Karnataka’s Shreyas Gopal, Qamran remained resilient, ending the day unbeaten on 94 runs.
Karnataka bowled well in the morning session, reducing J&K to 11/2 by Lunch. However, Qamran and captain Paras Dogra stabilized the innings with a partnership before Krishna dismissed Dogra. Qamran then partnered with Abdul Samad, guiding J&K to 89/3 at Tea. Karnataka’s Mayank Agarwal fought valiantly, scoring 160 runs off 266 balls, but J&K secured a significant first-innings lead of 291 runs.
