Jay Ajit Pawar has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau’s (AAIB) initial findings regarding the plane crash that claimed the life of his father, former Deputy Chief Minister and NCP President Ajit Pawar. He labeled the investigation as “incomplete and superficial,” urging for a more comprehensive inquiry and the immediate apprehension of the airline’s owner. This call for action comes in the wake of a viral video allegedly depicting Rohit Singh, the owner of VSR Ventures, sleeping in the primary pilot seat during a flight.
In a social media post on Instagram, Jay Pawar conveyed deep sorrow and frustration regarding the ongoing investigation. He criticized the AAIB’s preliminary report, stating that it lacked thoroughness and depth, emphasizing the need for transparent and truthful information for the people of Maharashtra and the bereaved families affected by the tragedy. The core of his concern revolves around a video circulating on social platforms, suggesting severe negligence on the part of the company’s owner.
Pointing to the footage showing Rohit Singh asleep in the pilot’s seat mid-flight, Jay Pawar highlighted the gravity of such negligence, deeming it unacceptable during airborne operations. He expressed profound shock and seriousness over the matter, underlining the lasting pain of losing his father in the tragic incident. Demanding immediate intervention from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), he called for the grounding of all VSR Ventures aircraft until a comprehensive investigation is conducted.
Jay Pawar further pressed for the immediate arrest of Rohit Singh, advocating for stringent legal measures and a transparent probe to safeguard the well-being of all passengers. Describing his actions as a son’s desperate plea, he emphasized the significance of ensuring accountability and safety in aviation operations, both in memory of his father and for the protection of every traveler.
The AAIB’s preliminary report, released following the Learjet 45 (VT-SSK) crash that claimed the life of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, highlighted critical lapses in the airfield’s infrastructure and operational oversight. Noting deficiencies in visibility, navigational aids, runway markings, and air traffic control arrangements, the report shed light on the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
